2 Days SSAS Tabular Workshop

This 2-day workshop is a seminar that covers the Tabular modeling in Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services 2012/2014. This special edition is a seminar and does not include hands-on-labs. Exercises will be provided as homework.

The Tabular modeling uses the concepts of tables and relationships with a fast in-memory engine called VertiPaq, which provides state-of-the art compression algorithms and query performance. Both Multidimensional and Tabular models can be queried by using existing OLAP tools based on MDX, and Tabular can be also queried in DAX, offering increased flexibility and performance.

Who should attend?

The course is aimed to professionals who want to exploit the full power of the new Tabular models in Analysis Services. No knowledge of previous versions of Analysis Services and Unified Dimensional Model (UDM) is required, because Tabular is based on different concepts and on the new DAX language. You will also learn the differences between the two technologies (Tabular and Multidimensional) and when to choose one over the other.
